Course Progress

This four-part series introduces educators and youth-serving professionals to the WINGS approach to social-emotional learning, providing essential foundational knowledge and practical tools to foster crucial life skills in children. Through this progressive curriculum, participants will discover how the WINGS program uses “Words to Live By” to create an engaging, accessible framework that adds “heart smarts” to academics for greater success in school and life. The series moves from understanding the core benefits of SEL and creating supportive learning environments, to exploring the explicit instructional components of the WINGS curriculum, and finally mastering powerful implicit teaching practices including modeling, creating teachable moments, and implementing positive guidance. Each 15-20 minute module builds upon the previous, equipping youth-serving professionals with both the theoretical understanding and practical strategies needed to seamlessly integrate social-emotional learning throughout their day with minimal disruption to existing schedules. After completing the four lessons, watch a virtual field trip where WINGS kids tell you more about how they use Words to Live By every day to be the best versions of themselves.
