Help your students focus during this fun constellation creation.

Supplies

How to Play

  1. Give each student a black piece of construction paper, miniature marshmallows, toothpicks, and glue.
  2. Tell the group that today they are making their very own constellation and show them the picture of constellations.
  3. Tell students to choose one constellation and to write the name of it at the bottom of their paper.
  4. Show students how to combine marshmallows and toothpicks to look like a constellation and how to glue it on the paper.
  5. As students begin constructing their constellations, move around the room praising students who are focusing.

Other Ways to Play

  • For younger students, have them draw their constellations first and then put the toothpicks and marshmallows on them.
  • For older students, have them research constellations and decide which one they want to construct.  If time permits at the end, have them share their constellation with the others.
